I will say that most other companies resist their involvement. Most others require them to get warrants before they are allowed access to any information. Their businesses rely on security for their customers and they're not going to destroy that for a couple million. Those are companies that supply other companies so they're entire business would be destroyed. Apple made police and the FBI take them to court because they refused to give them away to bypass phone security features. It's come out that if these agencies pressure them, they'll leak it in a heartbeat which forces them to go about it above board. Social media platforms are infested by people that want to control the conversation. The only thing that slightly held them back was fear of being called out and losing customers over it. Once they were able to get rid of a sitting President to pretty much no consequences, they all became emboldened. I'm anxiously waiting on the coof files to see the completion of their descent. Even in these files you can see their reluctance. It's clear that these were not strong, principled individuals either. The fact they're all young and still want to be seen as being "good" was easily manipulated.
