I like DeSantis, but I always knew he was just jumping on the bandwagon. He was pretty heavy handed during the lockdowns until he saw other Republican governors not following the mandates and getting praise. I recall people being arrested on beaches. A lot of the legislation he's pushed was already being done quietly in other states. Unlike him, there weren't these big press conferences done by the governor taking credit everytime a member of Congress proposed a bill. According to his own book, he was in private talks with Chapek and was going to drop the changes to Disney's special district. So everything he was saying publicly was bs. When Iger came in and started publicly attacking him is when the current plan moved forward. The whole thing about businesses not having special privileges over their competition by the state is him blowing smoke up everyone's a$$.
