  1. Given the recent Supreme Court decision in regards to the government and internet as well as previous cases when it comes to communication I don't see how, even if it passes, it would make it through a legal objection.

  2. No. It specifically states taking over the infrastructure and everything else. Internet providers would essentially work for the government much like Blue Cross and Blue Shield is contracted by the government to handle Medicare. It would work like how electricity is handled in some countries. The companies would require government approval for any promotion or anything else, each area would have a rate set by the government, the government would set all policies for the companies, etc. The companies would just become a middle man and they'd be government contractors.

  3. According to the plan it means prioritising 5k and high speed access to minority groups. If a minority calls in with an internet connection issue, they'll be moved ahead of a huwhite person that's been waiting hours or days. Basically huwhite people will never get anything fixed or connected because every other group will be constantly moved to the front.

  4. No. It's being voted on today. It has to be passed which it's pretty doubtful it will. The issue is a legislation like this even making it to a vote.

  6. Of course they did. Everything the military creates communication wise in particular, eventually goes into public domain. Satellite phones became cell phones, GPS, etc. All military research.
