@charlesvan13 If I'm leaving the country, I have to show my passport to the airline before I'm given my ticket. They won't issue one without it, unless you're a citizen of another country returning home like Canada. When issued state ID you can request the new type, it's more expensive but acts as a universal ID. That or a passport (the other form of universal ID) allows you into federal buildings and you can't fly without one of them. Outside that, our Social security number that's issued at birth is also a national identification number. You don't know what you're talking about.

The meltdown and salt will be almost as glorious as it was in 2016. Let the screeching begin!

@pauldavis863 Not as long as that sleeping potato is in power. This is a lesson to younger generations as to why the US can NEVER elect a weak President. Carter was one as well and the similarities between then and now are shocking.

@eagleman1542 The only thing that can happen is to get people in that will change the voting rules. Since, like California, that's impossible because of the current ones, welcome to why you should never allow that in your state.

Most states require ID to vote, even Democrat controlled ones. Only 2 or 3 have universal mail in ballots, most states you must request one usually as an absentee ballot because there's a reason you physical can't go vote. I personally, don't early vote before a week out because measures on the ballot can be removed until then. I've had that happen before where there were 2 measures for medical marijuana on it and one got removed 1 week out. So anyone that voted for that one, but not the other one wasted their vote. It still passed, but barely. Edit: Voting laws are done by each state, rather than controlled federally. It's because you vote on a lot more state and local issues than federal government stuff and votes for those are held more often. Judging by the federal election laws the current Congress wants to institute, I'm glad they're handled by state. It's a big part of our decentralized system.
