  2. You'll never be allowed to fix them yourself because of proprietary rules relating to the parts. Like most electronics, there's no right to repair.

  3. My Neon did that. Up to 50 mpg on highway and easy 30 mpg in town. It was a 91 model, when they still smiled. Dang thing would NOT die. It was still going 5 years ago. Edit: It was distinctive and I'd see it driving around town pretty regularly.

  4. It's expensive to add them to an existing roof. You have to remove it and build a new one. There's also the issue that in order to help keep a home cool, they are surrounded by trees to shade the roof.
