@OtisFlint That's not the same. It's because it's cheaper to just build the same motor, but the rest of the car can't handle the amount of power so it's tuned down. My car, for example, can easily be boosted but other parts have to be replaced to handle it or they'll just break. Even something as simple as the tires have to be replaced or their tread will rip off.

It's the same for excessive heat too. They lose 50% of their power in both very cold and very hot areas. So it is an issue in places like Texas too. You just don't have to worry about it being on a heated pad to charge it back up. In Canada if a brand new one is in an accident on the side the battery is, it's written off. It costs more to fix it than the car is worth.
