That's exactly why Trump didn't pursue charges against Hillary. Even though she clearly broke the law and she was only the Secretary of State, not the President. Because she was his political opponent, it would have had the appearance of partisanship coming from the government. It's normally okay to go after people within a former administration for clear wrongdoing, but you avoid the President. That's why Ford pardoned Nixon. The Democrats have now put the country into the position of prosecutions being the only way to restore any faith in the system. The people will demand justice for the government trampling on their rights and showing clear partisanship and corruption. If the next President refuses to do that, I honestly don't know how much longer we'll stand as a republic.
