Agree. This is going to be a test of wills. If Musk turns the platform into the be all, end all of platforms, the advertisers will come back because that's where the people are.

Companies like Audi already have a pretty select market and with the economy, the customer base isn't going to be expanding anytime soon. I think for them, in particular, it's a good way to cut some costs without having to admit to investors they need to. That's going to be happening a lot with the recession kicking into high gear.

That pool was never large to begin with so it was never a good idea, but all the advertising companies got caught up in the baiting tactic. It is a way to stir up online engagement, but it drives away your existing customer base. Ulta is enjoying that right now and here it is the holiday shopping season so I don't think it was the intelligent play. Entertainment companies are starting to catch on, except Disney who are doubling down. Disney is enjoying a huge drop in stock, big drop in park attendance, and box office losses over it. The bigger the company, the slower they are to respond. The ESG money can't and won't sustain these companies forever.

I didn't see him "worked up". I saw him reminiscing to the old wild west days of the internet. Which were great by the way. There's also nothing wrong with knowing which companies are for censorship. Knowing that and responding to that was how we stopped it in the 80s and 90s. That has nothing to do with a platform.
