  1. This isn't even a Cold War 80s mindset. Sure we all dreamed of being a Wolverine, but that was a Russian invasion in the US. We understood, and still do, better than most the dangers of US troops meeting Russian troops on the battlefield head to head. Not only the nuclear risk, but just the moral boost that would give Russian troops. You would turn a situation where many aren't as gung ho about being there into a determined force. Unfortunately Biden just gave them one with this hot take. Not as much as troops on the ground would, but certainly he's helped steel the nerves of them.
