@Bullfrog No they aren't. The caste system in India is considered a form of slavery. If you're born into the lower caste, you stay there. You are only allowed a certain level of education and to perform certain jobs. That's not true in the majority of social systems.

That's why we're called Native now. Columbus thought he landed in India and thus we were called that. We're not from the country of India however, so are not "Indian". It was changed as the number of immigrants from India began to increase.

Looking at things that way only works in European countries. The US is all immigrants so it's been diverse from the start. Otherwise we'd all be Quakers since that's who settled it first. To try to argue against that, you'd have to completely ignore that each European country has it's own culture. That the Germans, Irish, Spaniards, Italians, etc that came here were all just like the English. Later, as the US expanded, it picked up a lot of Mexicans as it moved westward because they were already in certain areas like Texas and New Mexico (hence the name).
