I hate articles like this because they are framing it as being helpful and it's anything but. The buy in bulk is good, but you've got to watch the prices on that. A lot of things will be more expensive. They do that because the amount you get looks like a good deal until you do the math. Plus you've got to have room to store it. Watch for local grocery store sales on canned goods like vegetables and stock up when they are on sale because they will last for a couple of years and are easy to stack and store in a dry place. Stop buying coffee on your way to work. Get a big insulated cup and make it at home to take with you. Instead of buying bottled water buy a small filtration system that's either a jug or attached under the sink. Learn old recipes from the depression era. They knew how to make small amounts of meat stretch to make several servings (I have recipes from my grandmother that can feed a family of 6 using 1 chicken breast and they are tasty). That's what I can think of to drastically reduce your costs. Edit: Everything else I can think of is common stuff environmentalists and conservationist will say. Like cut off the top of gallon milk jugs or 2 liter bottles, poke holes in the bottom, and use to plant herbs. Basically just buy stuff that's reusable or you can find a secondary use for. Even doing those things and planting flowers from seeds will give you something to do since you won't be able to afford all the streaming services soon.
