The original projection was Republicans take the House, but not the Senate because the Senate seats up for grabs were in fairly blue areas. The fact so many of them were that close is a huge win and a clear message to Democrats. It's not some dramatic loss. I think when the dust settles it'll end up at the original projected numbers. What Republicans do need to do is loosen the purse strings in these areas. Areas that should have been blowouts for the Democrats weren't and they way overspent Republicans. The fact Oz was even close to beating Fetterwoman is huge and I don't think people really understand that, but I guarantee the Democrats do. While they'll spin it publicly as this huge win for them, it wasn't.

@domehammer The fact Zeldin got so close in New York sends a message to the Democrats. At this point, as weird as it is to say, it's turning into a toss up. If everyone hadn't moved out during the pandemic, he likely would have won.

@libertariansasquatch Taking the Senate was a longshot 2 weeks ago. Now here you are claiming because 3-4 seats weren't taken it was a loss. This is the problem with hyping up possibilities close to the election. It changes thing just enough so that the original projected win feels like a loss. The Senate wasn't even supposed to be in play so how is not taking it this horrible defeat? The seats that were up were in normally strong blue areas. Supposedly fairly safe areas for Democrats. The fact they were all so close is the win.
