These things hit larger cities and the towns just on the outskirts the first and hardest. It's because they only stock about 2-3 days worth of goods at a time. In smaller areas it's not going to be as noticeable because these aren't items that get restocked nearly as often. Other than the chicken shortage, when they killed a bunch of them, they haven't affected where I currently am either. Even then, it was just the large packages that were hard to come by. There's still baby formula (though not every type), tampons, and socks. There's no sign limiting the amount of baby formula you can purchase either. Edit: Where I moved from got hit with the winter storm that knocked out power in Texas. Delivery trucks couldn't get into town for a week. The stores were just running out of food and gas when they were able to get in. Had it been a big city, they'd have run out within a couple of days and food would have to be flown in.

That must be where the diesel shortages is coming from. My husband, who works at an oil refinery, looks at me like I'm crazy when I tell him that's being predicted. They haven't cut down on making diesel so the cause is coming from elsewhere.

Car manufacturers won't be allowed to make anything but electric cars by 2030. If the majority of gas powered cars breakdown, you'll be forced to go electric.
