  1. I'm sure people thought this when McKinley was President, Harding, and many others. You either don't know history and that there have always been periods of large corruption or you do and have choose to ignore it. It's always outed by Populism in the US. Everytime a populist President is elected, it's been in response to massive corruption. So no, the US government isn't "on it's last legs" just the current establishment is.
