@texasswade8453 The reason the military isn't bombing Afghanistan right now is because we have a low supply of short range missiles which are what we use in the Middle East. That's because 3 years ago we stopped producing as many and instead switched to long range missiles in preparation for a war with China or North Korea. Leaving Afghanistan isn't the failure. Even the Taliban taking control isn't the failure. The failure is not evacuating our people before we left. The reason the Taliban taking control isn't a failure is because the majority of the citizenry support pretty much everything they represent. You can't claim to support self governing of free countries and then call their self government a failure just because it's not what you want. Pretty much no country in the Middle East will ever be able to have and sustain a Western type government because Islam is too prevalent and dictates a system of governance. China is using us leaving for PR for their people. Every statement they make is to prove to their population how "strong" they are to keep them inline. The USSR did the same thing, as does Cuba, Venezuela, and North Korea.

@vodkaru5907 He didn't say those agreements mean anything to China. They do mean something in the eyes of the rest of the world. The point the post makes, that you ignored, is that China doesn't have a legitimate reason other than to take control of a sovereign country, to invade Taiwan. Meaning that doing so will be a violation of international law which requires a response from all powers in the area and the world. Edit: Also if China invades Taiwan, that's a direct threat to the sovereignty of Japan which allows Japan's massive Navy to counteract China's. China is aware of that and has threatened to nuke Japan. As has been discussed before, generally whenever a leader threatens nuclear war, it isn't coming from a place of strength. That's a sign of weakness.
