You can tell they don't have one. My mother-in-law told me when we found out our first was going to be a boy (we didn't want to know but they accidentally told us) that boys are for moms and girls are for dads. She had 2 girls before she had my husband. She's absolutely right. Moms and daughters fight like cats and dogs. Especially during the teenage years. Didn't have much of that with my sons. Sons put their moms on a pedestal. Moms are very special and dear to sons. To not want that is crazy. There's a reason it's daddy's girl and mama's boy. There's a reason football players yell "Hi mom!" into the camera.

I'll be the first to admit I wanted my second one to be a girl. I think that's pretty normal. I had my boy, and I wanted a girl. To take something completely normal because most people want one of each and applying it to never wanting a boy is just a whole new level. My pregnancies were high risk, with each getting more dangerous, so we knew a 3rd wasn't going to be in the cards for us. Though we would have liked a 3rd and did discuss adoption. To take my "gender disappointment" and apply it to such a wider scale is insanity. I don't know why I'm surprised. These are the same people who have taken a term to describe having a flashback to a traumatic event because you've got PTSD and making it equivalent to someone saying mean words. Edit: My mom wanted me to be a girl so bad she argued with the nurse that I was a boy. She was put under anesthesia to deliver, so she had no idea what she had. She just knew because she wanted a girl she'd never have one. These are just cute, funny stories you tell your kids. I know my mom wouldn't have loved me any less had I been a boy just like my youngest knows I adore both him and his brother. To turn that into this is just sick.
