@mikewaterfield3599 True. They were incomplete. Never is a strong word though. He was intending to release it, he just didn't compile it himself. Everything after that isn't relevant to what he published. There's lots of contradictions in them from what he published. Anyone using them to claim that's how he really wanted a character to be is disingenuous. He published what his final version of the characters are and anything else is him trying to figure out who they were before that. There were a lot of people using examples of Galadriel from the writings his son published to try to justify how Amazon was presenting her. They were clearly getting that talking point from elsewhere because as soon as I explained Tolkien didn't publish those and they're his son compiling all his writings and publishing them so they aren't canonical they had no idea that had been done.

Let the memes begin as the fandom once again units to fight such a vicious evil. I do wonder if all the reviewers that kissed their butts while it was running and admitted it was crap later are going to pucker up again. Edit: I will say we'll see with this one if they follow the advice of the fandom. They bought rights to the Sillmerilion (sp) and are setting it in the East. The fandom told them the East was pretty much blank so they could make an original story that has zero impact on the overall lore using it and diversity would work there. I don't doubt it'll still be crap, but as long as it doesn't impact the lore it's easier to just ignore. Once the trailer releases we'll see if it's still got Guyladreil. If it does, it's gloves off again.
