  2. There's a guy who buys companies just to break them into pieces and sell them off. He's been trying to get his claws into my husband's former workplace. It was the thing that was done in most hostile takeovers in the 80s. You buy a manufacturing plant, chemical plant, etc that's struggling. Then you fire everyone and sell the equipment for a quick profit.
