  2. Cornrows are too. Just because they weren't called that doesn't mean other cultures didn't have it. That group includes Vikings. Just because slaves used the hairstyle doesn't make it exclusive to black people. I'm Native and could get pissed you wear braids because they are significant in that culture. After all, our scalps were sold to the Federal government. Attaching a sad story to them, doesn't change them being used by many different cultures.
