  1. Everyone knows this. Brand loyalty did mean something because those are the people you can count on to be repeat customers. There's a difference in understanding that every company is out to make as much money as possible and calling the group that are guaranteed repeat customers and a money source "undesirable". Edit: The reason as a business you foster that group and take care of it is because when there's an economic downturn, they are the ones that make or break your company. They are free advertising by word of mouth and create buzz about anything new. Whales will come and go and depending on their whims is a lousy business plan. You just have to look at Vegas and the hotels that used to attract the whales that are now rundown and barely surviving.
