It's my understanding that this is just a purchase of the existing license that's been out there since the movies. That's what all this is from. That license is about to expire and everything revert back to the Tolkien estate. That's why it went up for sale in the first place. So this company will just do a final squeeze on that license before it ends. Here's hoping they can't do too many deals and too much damage quickly. Anything can be started and not completed for years, like RoP was, but nothing beyond what they can get started very soon.
