  1. I understand the trope, but what Davies is missing is that they're usually disabled because of doing evil. It's usually in some lab accident from trying to do something that's evil and selfish like trying to become immortal or create something to destroy their enemies. So he's saying the trope of if you use your intelligence for evil or for selfish reasons you'll face consequences is bad.
