@vorynrosethorn903 You sound like the Russians who brag about how many dead they had. I guess they don't understand that's a reflection of how incompetent their leaders were. Stalin thought he could win by simply throwing huge numbers of men at artillery. Finally he allowed tacticians to take control and the casualties dropped significantly. The US had some of the best tacticians at the time, so of course their numbers were lower. That doesn't mean they didn't take significant losses during certain operations like D-Day. Cunning isn't a sign of weakness, but of intellectual strength.

@bitcoinzoomer9994 That's not even remotely true. Trauma is trauma and how the brain deals with it isn't new. What's considered traumatic may change, but not the results of it. It was documented in the US during the Revolution and the Civil War, it just wasn't called that. War has always resulted in a certain number of soldiers not being able to reintegrate back into normal society. In the past, they would remain in the military if it resulted in them not being able to let go of their bloodlust. Those that it broke mentally usually would become hermits or enter a religious sect. Edit: The main difference is their line would die out unless they had previous children. In my tribe they would go live in the capital and help take care of and teach the children that lived there because their parents were divorced. Children from what we'd call broken homes today would go live with the Chief and his wives and family. On the anniversary of our "marriage" we would meet at the river. If one didn't show, the marriage was dissolved.
