That protest you're talking about was when my youngest was still in high school but the oldest had just graduated. He asked me what he should do. I asked if thought they should be banned, he said no. Then I told him he was giving it more thought than probably 99% were because they were mostly just doing it to get out if class. He was also one of the few that refused to participate. His teacher was angry because she couldn't go because he didn't. The funniest part was this was rural south Arkansas where I guarantee all the boys went hunting and the girl's fathers did too. As for skills we're good. I can grow food, sew, quilt, fish, canning, etc and my husband has become a fairly decent hunter. We'll make sure our family survives. I grew up having to do those things to survive so it'll be just going back. We've taught our two boys those skills between them so they'll survive with each other.
