@penmaster003 I really thought more people were awake. Unfortunately I was wrong. I take solace in knowing more are waking up everyday and we know this by the plummeting viewership of mainstream news programs.

@Animalace3 I think part of what is happening in the US is that some if these issues were compromised on in the past. That compromise was taken, at the time, to be the end of the conversation. Both sides agreed to that it at the time. Then one side decides since they got concessions the other time, they're going to push now for more, violating the previous compromise. At what point does the issue become settled? If one side is never satisfied unless they eventually win on all points, no matter how long it takes or how many previous compromises it has to break, at what point does the other side dig in their heels? I'm not sure a lot of people realize that a compromise had been previously agreed upon. Which goes to the less informed, the more confident someone is. I've even seen the compromise being used as a reason to keep pushing with arguments like " this happened then so why can't more happen that I want". In a perfect world the compromise would be the end of it. Unfortunately, that's not what happens.

The media has always been biased. They just used to let you know upfront. For example a newspaper would be called the Democrat. Now they are trying to convince you that they aren't. On top of that, they are just copying articles from each other. The lying and jumping to conclusions without any investigation is a real problem though and sensationalized reporting. That's yellow journalism and we know that that's historically been a problem.

@AccessAccess We have state run media, and no that's the not the job of the news. The job of the news is to tell you facts. Opinion pieces can be biased, but anything not labeled opinion or editorial is supposed to be fact driven. We know we have state controlled media because they've openly admitted to contacting the government to be told what story to run. They've said they've been told by the WH to spin the economy in a positive light. What you're describing is called yellow journalism and it used to illegal and it's definitely still considered unethical. There's a reason publications like The Enquirer are looked down on. Now almost all news media is on the same level as that, just more subtle.

@odst2247 The reason they all agree is because they simply copy each other rather than investigate a story themselves. They don't call or contact anyone. Click on the source of what you're reading and they'll all point back to the same one. A prime indication of this was the Covington kids. Ever major outlet was reporting the exact same thing and everyone of them were wrong. They didn't contact anyone involved for days or even look for more evidence, which the longer video was already available. That's why they all got sued and settled, and learned nothing.

@Baman21 Many other major news outlets are owned by Saudi Arabia. Don't forget the Washington Post is owned by Bezos which gives us such gems as taxing the rich will really only hurt lower income people.
