  2. Whether or not YOU think that disqualifies him is irrelevant. It's if the courts do. A lot took issue with Ted Cruz because he was born in Canada. The difference is both parents were citizens and they were there at the behest of the US government. It would be like disqualifying someone because they were born while their parents were working abroad as US ambassadors. Most countries don't give citizenship based on simply being born in that country. It transfers based on the parent's citizenship. That's where conflicts of citizenship enter in. The conflict of his citizenship would be because one parent wasn't a citizen and was a citizen of another country giving him citizenship in that country first not just by virtue of being born there alone, but based on that AND lineage. That's why the courts found Cruz to be eligible, but likely wouldn't have found Obama. Edit: My eldest son was born in Canada and his father was Canadian at the time, but since has acquired US citizenship. He's not even eligible to work for intelligence much less run for President.
