@reddirtwalker8041 You don’t lead yourself. Jesus. You’re not a leader without followers. Make choices for themselves, yes. Even then the choices are limited by the parent depending on age. The parent is still leading in those cases. The child doesn’t make decisions for the parents or give options to the parents on what they are allowed to do. That’s leading.

@EmperorsNewWardrobe They can’t “lead” their own play. You can’t lead anything if there’s no one to lead. Making choices for yourself isn’t leading because leading is controlling others. A leadership roll in a company means they are leading the direction every person that works for that company is going. A teacher leads the class full of other people. Those people may choose to learn or not, but the teacher still sets the rules for all to follow. When she said the child leads, she means the family. The child is the decision maker for everyone else. That absolutely should never be the responsibility of a child. I really think some of you are intentionally being obtuse.

@mattevans4377 Why won’t they trust me? Have I done something to betray their trust? Parents are the first people children learn to trust. It’s from that relationship that they learn how to trust. That reasoning has always baffled me. The idea that children innately distrust you because you’re the parent is wrong.

@djdusted6485 That’s not leading because you’re still limiting the choices available. That’s making a choice between options presented by the parent. I don’t think any of you understand what lead means. Lead means they make the decision for the family. They are the head of the household. They make the rules that everyone else must follow. Leading means you have people following.
