@PhillipMikeHunt As a Native, no, it's not. That's why we changed to being called Native. To differentiate between us and Indian immigrants because it started getting confusing. It's a legitimate question when someone simply says Indian. I'm in Oklahoma. The majority of the population still refers to themselves as Indian. You need to stop being offended for other people and worry about yourself. Also, they have nothing to be ashamed of. We have basically our own countries inside the US. We lost. Considering what's typically done to a conquered people, it was an amazing thing to do. Edit: We owned slaves just so you know. When the ones that came to Oklahoma willingly resettled here, they brought them with them. The majority of Natives fought for the South in the Civil War. When the slaves were freed, the government had to go to each tribe to get them to give up their slaves. Now you've got a conundrum. We're a minority, but we were the last slavers. Real history is messy.
