  2. They didn't land. They were allowed. For years the US was able to prevent boats from Cuba landing on shore. Very few got through. It doesn't matter what it's closest to. The people there are Italian, not African because it belongs to Italy. They aren't "migrants". They're illegals who believe they have the right to go wherever they like that has the best benefits. We used to call hundreds of boats heading for a place an invasion. It's not a "crisis" because they could be turned around, sent right back where they came from. You're making it sound like they're poor, beaten down, starving people so desperate they had to make the "incredibly dangerous journey" instead of what it really is. It's a bunch of healthy, young, adult men seeking adventure and riches that's been going on forever.
