@theGuardian Wikipedia? Your using a source that's not allowed in middle school papers because it's known to not be accurate since it's able to be edited by anyone? Plus why are you trying to impose Western ideals on another culture? Isn't that colonization? So colonization is bad from the past, but it's fine to do now. Got it.

@tonyt4653 Which has nothing to do with Japanese culture and everything to do with Western culture. Two different cultures. Japan was not consuming Western culture at that time and certainly not US culture or entertainment since the US wasn't an influential power until after WWII. Culture wise it wasn't until long after that time period. US cultural influence wasn't huge until the late 20th century.
