  1. The idea that the left was for free speech isn't correct. I was alive in the 80s. It was the "liberals" that held Senate hearings about censoring music. They controlled the PMRC that put stickers and age restrictions on everything. For some reason this is remembered as the right doing all the censorship and that's just not true. On a very local level, a bit sure. It was the liberals trying to do it on a national level. Because it's been associated with Christianity and people seem to forget Christians are on both sides of the political aisle, it gets talked about as strictly a right wing thing.
