@jajajajajajajajaja867 No it’s people expecting people that recently moved somewhere to not interfere in the area until they’ve been there awhile and learned more about it. The things that attracted you to the area took years to cultivate and build. It didn’t just spring up magically. It’s no different than moving to a new country. You need to integrate into the area and learn how people think and until then keep your complaints to yourself. Nobody owes you immediate full acceptance, trust, or respect. You’ve got to earn it just like every family there did. The fact you think where someone’s from determines their intelligence says a lot about you and it’s nothing good.

If it’s not representative of you, why are you taking it so personal? I’m not sorry that as I see California plates more and more in my new town it causes serious concern. You’re a new immigrant to a new area and you’re acting like you already own it instead of integrating into your new place. That’s exactly the type of attitude that’s the problem. It’s an attitude that comes from certain areas because they believe the south is a bunch of stupid people and people like that should be told how to be. Another “conservative” that’s a California political figure is Arnold. So saying you’re a conservative from California doesn’t afford you the benefit of the doubt you seem to think you’re owed, because you’re not owed anything from anyone. You moved there they didn’t invite you to or beg you to. Instead of being grateful you’re already complaining about political officials. Edit: I’ve seen people in my little town that moved there for work complaining about everything being done at churches. That they won’t volunteer at anything associated with a church. That they don’t like how there’s religious stuff everywhere and it makes them uncomfortable and how to get people to understand and stop it. That’s what this is about and you clearly share that attitude to a degree by already complaining because someone hurt your feelings and trying to stop them from saying it again. Get over yourself.

You’re comment contradicts itself. “The founders didn’t give us states to be experimental” “The power comes from the states…not the founders”. Since you acknowledge the founders created the states then yes the power of the states comes from the founders who created the Constitution that outlines that power. They created the states, they didn’t “create” the states. The states came together to create a country. The states are so that each person can live under rules and laws they most agree with. The way the power structure was laid out, it was intentionally so change would occur slowly and new ideas could be tried by different states with different ideas, economies, resources, etc. If the new idea worked in most areas, Congress could then decide to add it into federal law. If it worked for some but failed in others, the states it worked for would be able to keep it and the ones it didn’t could reject it. That way every state would be unique and the people could freely move between them to under laws they found more to their liking. It was never supposed to be homogeneous or states imposing laws onto other states. I’d suggest reading the Federalist papers and other writings from the founders to understand their vision instead of deciding what you think they meant. They were pretty clear. Originally your loyalty was to state and then country. It was following the Civil War that a more powerful federal government was pushed and loyalty only to the country.
