@mayowankenobi I've been trying to tell people that. They seem to think elective surgery is just things like boob jobs. They don't realize all but emergency surgery is elective. The longterm effects on overall health and avoidable deaths will be interesting if they keep up with that following the shutdowns. Since this has all been an experiment (none of this has ever been attempted on this scale befor), they should to help determine if this is the best way to handle future pandemics.

Free Thinker What exactly does WWII have to do with any of this? Everyone was essential during that time and told it repeatedly. Nobody was locked down and prevented from working except those in camps. It's the total opposite of this situation. Women joined the workforce at numbers never experienced before because the country needed every able bodied person to fill a roll. You can respond if you like, but I don't feed the trolls. This is only to educate others that you have no idea what you're talking about.

Every job is a means to make money. That doesn't mean that's the only way to view it. This job is to take care of my family, this job is so I can afford to do the things I enjoy like traveling, this job is to help me go to school so I can get a better job, etc. That puts work in the correct perspective.
