  1. The only problem with that is the check still elevates that user. There's still not an even playing field so to speak. He's said he will restrict the reach of certain speech. There's still suppression on Twitter and shadow bans of speech that doesn't break the ToS. How much of that is because he still hasn't been able to fix the algorithm or is a permanent feature we'll have to wait and see.

  4. The founders never wanted the government controlling who's allowed to talk about events which is basically what a press pass is and the access it gives. The very idea that you have to be connected to a "legitimate" news outlet is against the concept of freedom of the press.
