  1. In 1980 Castro sent 125,000 Cubans to the US over 5 months. The federal government opened bases and other places to handle it. The states weren't required to absorb the costs of handling them nor were they allowed to just wander all over. There's twice that many in a single month and this isn't new. It's been going on for years with the federal government ignoring it and forcing border states and their surrounding states to strain their resources for their care. The federal government needs to step up and do their job. Secure the border and if they refuse, THEY'RE responsible for securing them and providing for them until they can be properly vetted and sorted out.
