Impossible because the requirements are in the Constitution not in a bill passed by legislation. It would require an amendment to change it. The court's job is to interpret the Constitution, not completely change it.

@claytonbrown4760 Legally that doesn't even matter because his mother was a US citizen which made him a natural born citizen anyway. Ted Cruz was born in Canada to a US citizen and the courts cleared that as a natural born citizen per the Constitution.

@justinm2697 They have. It was for Ted Cruz when he ran against Trump in 2016. He was born in Canada. One parent was a US citizen which makes him a natural born citizen according to the Court and the Constitution. Birth citizenship is given 2 ways. Being born in the US or being born to a parent with citizenship. Most countries only use the 2nd way.

It's a ridiculous legal argument. That case was about naturalized citizens being treated differently by police and protections abroad from Embassies. By that logic, you don't even need to be a citizen at all because 5th Amendment protection extends to anyone with in the US regardless of status according to the Supreme Court. To stretch a decision on due process to cover the entire Constitution is ludicrous.
