@Betcaligarcia That is not 100% accurate. A detailed examination of the pelvis is the only 100% way to know or DNA. Even if a female hasn't given birth, the pelvic bones will be different. Skeletal remains of a female that's given birth are easily determined with just a look. If she has not, then it requires a more detailed measurement of them. Unfortunately recently (the last 10 or so years) it's been discovered that the wrong sex has been given when it's been based on the skull alone because in some areas males had feminine facial features and women had masculine facial features compared to today. That was only discovered after DNA had been done on the bones.

@stephenmarshall8367 Untrue. That individual has not had bottom surgery. We know because they apparently have regularly flashed the women in the changing area.

Of course we can tell by the bones. That's how we finally found out the male Viking was actually a female even though she was buried with items commonly found buried with men. Women's pelvic bones are noticeably different if they've given birth. If a woman is buried that hasn't, it takes a detailed look at the pelvis to determine sex. Problems arise, like the Viking woman who was most likely an important figure to her tribe, when bones can't be removed for a deeper examination of them. The initial determination is made based on what's found buried with them. The major discovery that came from determining the Viking was a female wasn't the talking points about gender roles that followed, but that we learned back then Viking males had what would be considered feminine facial features and Viking women had masculine facial features compared to today. Which also helps explain why women would often willingly pursue Viking males who settled areas in England and other parts of the world leading to those settlements becoming integrated into the society rather quickly rather than being excluded. So it was more than just that they bathed regularly unlike other cultures.
