If they had their way, you could vote online or by phone. They think the citizenship requirement is restrictive. They've been pushing for that to be removed for a while.

That has been another huge problem with that party. No matter where you're from, you vote how California and New York does federally or you're out. No matter what values they run on, they vote with the party at the federal level. It's why no matter how much I like a Democrat candidate and what they say, even their past record, I can't vote for them for a federal office. We need to remind people of that when they start pushing moderate southern Democrats forward for president.

"Our democracy" is a phrase from Marxism. Under Communism only members of the communist party are allowed to vote. Anyone outside the party was blocked from participating in "democracy." That's why it's called "our democracy." It's important to know where phrases come from when they suddenly pop up in everyday discourse. Just like social justice. It's not new. It was from the Progressive Era from 1890-1920. It was the progressives that banned alcohol and when women were allowed to marry each other in Boston. It's important to understand when these ideas were introduced whenever they attempt to point to something being allowed in the past.

@bellaitalia1031 Don't vote Democrat honestly. It's rare to find one now that does that at the federal level because they know they'll be pushed out. Fetterman is the exception because his seat is pretty secure. Voting only on party lines would cost him his seat. Anyone that can win right after a stroke that caused brain damage, doesn't have much to worry about.

lol That really is the issue with them. It's funny they hate the filibuster when it was created by them. Had they not reduced the requirements for a bill to pass from majority to a simple majority, they wouldn't be having these problems. Them saying the founders wouldn't support the filibuster while talking about majority rule is also funny. The founders warned of tyranny by the majority and set up our system to avoid it wherever possible, and they were salivating for it then and fearing it now.

It's not hard to hold the Democrat position at the federal level. It has nothing to do with the Constitution. They want to strip state rights and consolidate everything into the federal government to create cookie-cutter states. If you look at everything they were trying to pass, it was to force red states to institute almost all blue state policy. If they actually cared about the Constitution, they wouldn't have tried to pass so many gun laws that were against the Constitution and Supreme Court rulings.

@johng4093 How a state votes for president has nothing to do with how they vote on the state level or other federal offices. I lived in Arkansas. We'd vote red for president and have a blue governor. It's why I've always taken issue with calling a state red or blue based only on who they voted for president the previous election. Arizona is not a red state. It's purple and has been a very long time. They absolutely got hit with the bulk from the recent state migration. Whereas solidly red states mostly got Republicans and libertarians during it, because Arizona wasn't solid red, it got a lot of the Democrats that fled California. So while the normal population was becoming redder, the new influx of people were solid blue voters. Californians are absolutely to blame for why Arizona hasn't gone from purple to light red.

They can't fathom that will happen when they've got it. They want single party rule. Meanwhile Republicans are trying to tell them how to save their party because they understand only having one large party is bad. If the Democratic party collapses, it'll take probably more than a decade for a new party to arise to having any amount of consolidated power. You'll see a bunch of small parties that can't gain traction at a national level. Every other time that's occurred in our history there was a 3rd party ready to take its place.

14:16 When they said that against anyone standing the way, it was democracy. Now, when Republicans say that it's authoritarian. This is why they won't hold the presidency for at least 10 years.

@zackzittel7683 That's what absentee voting was also for. People that can't physically make it to a polling place. You have to request those instead of just having the ballot arrive in your mailbox unsolicited. It's how my grandparents voted because they retired to their house on the creek that didn't even have an address.
