So we had to build fences for you to think we understood ownership and control of land? Does that mean since my neighbor doesn't have one he doesn't really own it? Yes we did. I really want to know where people get this idea from. Not only did my tribe understand we controlled the land, we each worked a single area to grow food for our family. We didn't have some massive field everyone worked and then made a huge pile of the harvest and shared it. After the family harvested their field, they'd gather up their belongings to move to the next clearing that would be farmed the next year. It's called rotational farming. You leave a field farrow so the ground replenishes it's nutrients. We had a capital too. I loved for you to have told an Aztec they didn't "own" their land. I don't know if people think we were stupid or it's part of the nobel savage myth thinking we were too kind to believe in ownership and control. Either way, it's completely false. Otherwise why would fight over it?

Algonquins encompasses a lot of different tribes. That's just the language they share. I'm from an Algonquin tribe.

There are treaties that were signed during the conflicts. Most of these tribes fought with the English over them just setting up settlements on their land. Did you bother to read any history before making this post? Edit: My tribe is the one that went to war with the English over Jamestown. I'm well aware of this history, particularly in Virginia. This is an extremely ignorant comment.

The French didn't bother the tribes. They simply traded with them and made agreements with them. This is why the Natives sided with France in the French Indian War. The funniest part about the Louisiana purchase is France sold the US land they didn't even control.

Yes they're allowed to open casinos on their land. Gambling is legal so what's your problem? You're "giving" them money because you go to the casino. Do you think you shouldn't have to bet anything and they just hand out money? You don't complain when big corporations take your money in Vegas so that's a very odd take. By the way, I also love living in Oklahoma. I live less than 30 minutes to the world's largest casino. It's good money for the area from people coming from all over the world.
