@durnhand9524 So many people in these comments wouldn't last 5 minutes on the street. There's a clear lack of situational awareness. The patrons were doing the correct thing by ignoring him to prevent escalating the situation. The guy could be mentally ill or on drugs making intervention much more dangerous. De-escalation and removal should be the goal. The woman should also be hyper alert when they leave in case he waits outside which staff, if properly trained, will be paying attention to.

@susanbishop5228 No it isn't. Words are not violence. The only thing he was guilty of at that point was disturbing the peace which is on the establishment to address. There was stuff going on before the recording started clearly and the employees were handling it. If the business refused to handle it then yes, individuals should step in. That's not what's happening here. Edit: As someone that's physically put themselves between weapons (knives and guns) and their target, this was not a situation that required intervention by individuals as it was being handled. Unlike most of the people in these comments, I don't just think I'd instinctively run toward danger to protect others, I know I will and have. This was not such a situation.

They were. There were two male employees, one on either side of him, slowly moving closer to him in case he became violent. There's clearly stuff happening before this and it appears he was confronted and told to leave previous to the start of the recording. After the business is involved and employees are dealing with it, patrons becoming further involved would only escalate the situation possibly putting people in danger. You are not very observant of what's going on around him.

To all the comments complaining someone wasn't doing something. The male employees were. That means it did not require individual intervention by patrons. Believe it or not, I guarantee several in there were very aware of every move happening around them even though they appeared to be ignoring it, ready to pounce if the situation warranted it. That's called street smarts and situational awareness which it appears a lot of people lack in these comments. Jumping up and getting in his face being aggressive would only escalate the situation making it more likely he'd attack someone. You don't know if he has a weapon somewhere, is mentally unstable, or on drugs all of which would affect his strength and ability to ignore pain making him much more dangerous than he was currently. It was being handled very well by staff so it would have been incredibly stupid to jump in and put them in danger.
