@kimmiller4951 I live in the south in a town with a slight black majority. I've been followed lots in stores and I'm not black. Trying to extrapolate your single experience onto the entire country is the problem. I've seen tons of black people never be given a second glance. Maybe it's like in my case, what they're wearing and how they're acting draws suspicion. Unless your supervisor told you to target a specific demographic, it's not about race. It's just that in that area more people of a race dress and act like that. It can't be that though. Everything has to be because of race, especially if it's the south. Edit: Since you claim to have worked in retail for that long, you know the profile to look for. Baggy clothes because it's easier to hide items beneath them, hoodies to disguise their face from cameras, they avoid eye contact, large bags, etc. If you ignore the reasons that's why people dressed like that are watched (easy to hide items and covering identity from cameras) it can appear biased. It's not though. It's based on why shoplifters dress like that. The reason makes the difference.

@MamaMOB It's mostly teenagers and young people that shoplift. That hasn't changed. Obviously if someone looks like a druggie the odds drastically increase no matter the age, but just general shoplifters are young.

Since Chewie passed away she's really gone off the deep end in this stuff. She was always a leftist but he kept her a bit grounded. He was an immigrant and was so thrilled when he became a citizen because of everything this country had given him the ability to accomplish. This crap about huwhite people not being followed in stores is complete bs. I got followed through stores. Does that change the color of my skin now? It's because of how I dressed and acted. They're confusing class privilege with skin color which is hilarious because there's more poor huwhite people and huwhite men make up the bulk of homeless.
