  1. Most places that have tribes have pow woes. The national one is held every 3 years I believe where all of them across the nation gather. One thing, they aren't costumes. That's Native clothing. Each symbol and color represents each nation and the smaller tribes within it, their status within the tribe, and religious symbols. That's like saying a priest wearing his ceremonial clothing is in a costume.

  3. It's not a derogatory term though. It was named by the original owner who was Native. Injun is derogatory. Indian, Redskin, Warrior, brave, etc isn't. If you aren't one, honestly it's not your business or concern.

  5. He's not a midget, he's a leprechaun. A part of Irish mythology. For someone claiming to be Irish, you don't know much about it. What year did you get here from Ireland or are you one of those who's ancestors immigrated over 100 years ago and still claims they're somehow Irish? If you're the latter, you're not Irish. You're of Irish descent and have no ties to the culture.

  6. So being weak is a virtue? Sports teams are supposed to be thought of as fierce and the name is supposed to express that. They should be named after war like tribes. My tribe conquered over 40 other tribes and received tribute from them far away to keep us away. I'm not ashamed that we fought and died to protect our territory anymore than I am that at first we helped them out of politeness because we thought they'd move on once they learned. When they didn't we declared war. I guarentee your tribe experienced war from other tribes. They just fled.

  7. Obama's administration joined a lawsuit to change the name during his Presidency. That's when a lot if this started. It wasn't Indians/Natives wanting it changed. He also tried to remove a tribe so the drilling company would be doing it on federal land rather than a reservation so the government would get the money instead of the tribe.
