@mattgunia942 Bingo! Gymnasts don't have careers. Outside hoping to make it to the Olympics you're other options are a circus. Ice skaters have skating tours and things. They're the only ones outside professional sports that have careers from their skills. Most Olympic winners are broke once they no longer compete. She probably has a bit more than some from previous sponsorships, but most of that money is spent on coaches and training.

@gaoasaurusg2159 She was already being outshined by a younger gymnast. These women trying to act like she's the GOAT or something know nothing about gymnastics. She's not going to be remembered, which she seems to understand. It's the other women that don't.

That's what she'll be remembered for if she's remembered at all. Not in a good way as much as people attempted to spin it that way. Just like Sean White destroyed his reputation by blocking another snowboarder from the Olympics and then not even competing in that event.

@xdragoonzero0 That's because she understands the limit to her fame. Nobody will remember her once the next good gymnasts comes along in the Olympics. She was very good, but she's not one of the greats that will be remembered. There's only two of those. Nadia Comaneci and Mary Lou Retton. Nadia was the first to get a perfect score and Mary Lou has the most gold medals. Both coached by the same man. She performed well in 2 Olympics. That's it. Edit: In fact her reputation is scared because she dropped out of the last event in the last Olympics. Compared to Mary Lou who performed and won with a serious ankle injury. She said she had mental problems which all athletes face in competition. She crumbled under it and the greats push through it.

The thing these women don't understand or maybe even know, she's dirt once the next Olympic gymnast star comes. There are only 2 or 3 gymnasts that the world knows their names to this day and that's because they were the first to get 10s in events. Even still, they're much more well known by other gymnasts. Her career is extremely limited. His will last much longer. Most Olympic athletes, even the good ones, aren't millionaires. Most of them are broke.
