Same. My two NEVER miss behaved at a restaurant or stores. I'd have workers walk up and thank me and comment on how good they were. If we went out to eat when they were babies, we'd go at lunch because there's a wait and it takes so long at dinner they'll be getting sleepy and grumpy. Not their fault. It would be mine for trying to mess up their schedule so I didn't do it. 18 months should be fine. They're staying awake more and have been eating solid food with the family so should already know how to behave at the tabel. I took my 5 and 6 year olds to a 5 star restaurant after a very long day at a park in DisneyWorld and they were perfect little gentlemen. I never even gave it a second thought because I knew they'd behave.

@britneyt9253 If you mean before she moved out and got married at 24, you respect the rules of the house. It's not grade school. You don't do "sleepovers". If they got married, then most likely he was already stable with his own place. You know, some people don't just jump in the sack right? Edit: A "relationship" isn't sex. If you think you can't hold on to a guy without putting out quickly, you don't bring enough to a relationship or you have low self esteem. I never did for minimum a year of having an exclusive relationship. Had no problem getting men to propose.

You're talking about while attending university. You don't know she was going to. You don't know if she got caught multiple times breaking the rules of the house and didn't contribute anything to it. Perhaps she engaged in illegal activities putting everyone else in the house at risk. It is not common to kick children out when they turn 18. Even the statistics don't say that. Maybe don't jump to conclusions about a place based on a single person's possibly completely fake 10 second TikTok video.

Had something similar with the youngest. Except he ended up coming back home. I did NOT kick him out, but I wasn't going to make it comfortable for him to stay. He left and less than 2 months later had blown through his savings and got fired. Apologized and was allowed back. It's painful to do. I cried so much and worried constantly, but sometimes you've gotta do what you've gotta do.

If you looked at all the videos of this trend, many of them do still work. Also technically, this is a job too as she's most likely getting paid for how many views she gets and is getting stuff sent to her from companies or even being paid to promote their products.

@lucycarlisle9120 Why would a child raised at home have those problems? You take them to the park where other kids are. They hang out with other kids in the neighborhood. I hate to tell you, but little boys have more energy, so no matter what, they're going to have a hard time sitting still for hours at a time. Children only learn in 15 minute increments. Which is why lessons should be tailored for 15 minutes, then a break doing something fun, then 15 more minutes. That's the teacher's job to work their lesson plans like that. If a teacher fails to provide a correct lesson plan that factors in young children's issues, I fail to see how that's a reflection on me as a parent. I hate to tell you, but children raised with a stay at home parent, have way better outcomes than those that don't. So that whole pros and cons business is just cope. Edit: The whole sharing and social cues, is why you have more than 1. Siblings figure it our because they have to. It's very unusual for a family that has a stay at home parent to only have one child. How did children behave for decades in school before daycare existed if what you're claiming is true? Also, yes, I AM better than a lot of people. Never been arrested, so that automatically makes me better than a lot of people. This idea nobody is better than anybody else is pure insanity. It's not a bad thing to be a better person and saying it is just means you drag everybody down to the lowest level.

I would imagine if she got in real trouble he'd allow her back in with the understanding that the rules will be enforced or she's right back out.

@peopleoflisbon And? 60% of it goes to social programs. Should we not have a military? Or just stop doing research that all of the world benefits from by making things like cell phones, GPS, etc ?

 @scottttym Yes because when children become adults they don't get influenced by outside forces. That never happens. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

You need to charge rent or something. Paying a bill or two. You're doing them no favors not teaching them the reality of being an adult and sheltering them from it. Then if they ever go out on their own or you pass away, you've left them wholey unprepared to function. If your child lives with you forever and can't care for themselves, you've completely failed as a parent because that's your job as one.

I'd suggest once out of college with whatever job, you give him a small bill or at least make him pay his own phone bill and/or car insurance. It helps them understand how to budget and prepares them for remembering bills come first.

@copyright8291 Do you understand what respectable means? It means an upstanding citizen. Someone other people would look up to and want to be like because they're leading by a positive example. That also falls under a contributing member of society. That means you're self sufficient and don't rely on others for your wellbeing. You're not a leech. Jesus absolutely teaches those things. Teach a man to fish ring a bell? He tells us to lead by example. They'll know you quote ring a bell?

This comment thread boils down to, "Matt doesn't like everything I do and has an opinion I don't like so I'll whine about it and forget that music, like any art, is subjective." I like music I guarantee a lot of people can't stand and don't like. Even calling the people that like them names and make fun of them. That doesn't change how I feel about that person or that music. If it does then I never really liked that person or if their opinion affects what I think of the music, I was never really a fan.

@johnmartin4641 Yes every regular woman has all those expensive gadgets to do their daily beauty routine. She's clearly used to doing it. Everything she's doing is to maintain her figure and are things a person following a personal dietitian would fix. There's also her speech patterns which is typical of a higher class. She doesn't come from new money. I also know and have been around the very wealthy. I can pass very easily as someone from that crowd even though I've been on food stamps and welfare. It's why I got asked out by sons of railroad owners and my husband's father is a multimillionaire and he has no qualms taking me to fancy dinner parties. It's because my grandmother came from money. She comes from money. She was raised with money instead of her family coming into it when she was older.

I come from a multigenerational home. Grandparents, parents, and us 4 kids. I was the youngest and only girl so was never pressured to leave. I moved out when I got married at 25. My family was talking about adding a 2nd story with a separate entrance for me because nobody was sure I'd ever get married. Not from lack of offers, but finding someone suitable. I did all the cooking, most of the cleaning (my mother and grandmother were disabled), had a full-time job, and paid my own bills. I have 2 adult sons with my husband. We have our own home. The oldest got married and bought his own home last year at 25 and the youngest is still living with us but works full-time and pays bills. He's aware if he doesn't like the rules, he's free to leave at anytime.

@Jimmy94411 Hardly. Canadians are worse. You're out of the house at 18 or soon after and they thought I was crazy for going to take care of my parents for 6 months while my mom recovered from multiple very invasive surgeries. That wasn't just my husband's family either. It was several. If you know it's expected of you, you're ready when you reach that age. Edit: I'm from the southern US and multigenerational households aren't uncommon. It's the best way to build generational wealth. Everyone working together.

My worst abuse came from women and it was the men in my life that protected me from it. You're an idiot. I've also had men protect me from snakes, rabid animals, and bobcat that roamed the woods near my house. In case you don't know what a bobcat is, it's a lynx.
