  1. It's a bit contradictory though depending on the resolution. He's assuming everyone's resolutions will involve getting in shape or eating when they can just as likely be about self reflection and being a better person. If it's the latter, then it's absolutely the correct time, nature wise, to do that. Then there's the ultimate problem that not everywhere gets cold enough that things go into hibernation. Florida has an almost 12 month growing period for example.
