As long as you don't allow anyone else in.

No they weren't. Suicide rates skyrocketed, deaths from heart attacks went up because people were afraid to go to the ER and waited too late, serious injuries to children from abuse skyrocketed, and the rape hotlines had more children call than women for the first time ever. Due to the lockdowns at least twice the number of people will starve to death worldwide. That's what they were about to many.

I guess the suicides because people lost everything isn't life? How about the double or more that will starve to death, or the people that died because their surgeries had been put off?
3
You swallowed the pill the media wanted you to. For one you're saying it's okay for one group to protest but not another. Rights for me, but not for thee. Secondly that they were about haircuts and not about losing everything they'd worked for. Not for the spike in suicides, child abuse, molestation, deaths from delayed treatments and surgeries. Most of which these two touched on, but you preferred to ignore.
2
With a lockdown if they don't want to get infected, then they should follow the guidelines and stay home. It really is that simple. There was no need to leave your home unless you were an essential worker, and as an essential worker you were at much higher risk not just from a protester, but anyone.

No. He was passing funny money at a store

When did social distancing in a line, waiting for your temperature to be taken before being allowed to enter a building "storming"?
1
Michagan still wasn't opening when either were going on. A couple had the lockdowns extended to this past week.
1
So I guess the group of black armed protesters at my Capitol shouldn't have been protesting for Floyd then. They were also dressed in black tactical gear. A lot were armed since open carry is legal. Interesting isn't it how the many armed ones weren't shown by the media, but that's all the media showed for the other one.
1
Except masks aren't a substitute for social distancing. You are supposed to be doing both. Did you interview every person protesting to know none of them thought it was a hoax? If you didn't, then you can't claim that. Singing and touching are also huge no nos, but saw a lot of that too. None of what you said has anything to do with why it wasn't acceptable for one group, but was for the other.
1
@kielweiss3606 Not in all states and gatherings of more than 10 weren't allowed anywhere much less in the hundreds or thousands. They are surging because of protests. We're hitting the 2 week mark of when they started.
1
You are correct. They certainly wouldn't have lasted as long or been as violent. It was a powder keg waiting to go off. You can't keep a population locked up in a constant state of fear and not expect something to happen.
1
Most don't know it was an experiment. It was done during the Spanish flu where there were large outbreaks, but never dreamed of on a scale like was done.
1
So rights for me but not for thee? The reason someone protests isn't really relevant since it's a right guaranteed by the Constitution. Who are you to decide what is of life and death importance to another person? I wasn't aware bringing up suicides and drug abuse caused by the depths of despair was personal satisfaction? What about the huge increase in severe injuries from child abuse, molestation, and preventable deaths? Were those worth it or is that personal satisfaction too?
1
How does "let me go back to work" become haircut? You too missed the depths of despair that was being talked about by the protesters. Suicide rates, child abuse, molestation, drug abuse, and preventable deaths all skyrocketed.
1
Protesting is a right afforded to everyone. You don't get to decide who gets to and who doesn't. Rights don't work like that. I'm tired of the haircut crap. They were protesting the lose of their livelihood. People that cut hair are usually self employed and got nothing except bills they can't pay and not being to buy food for their families.
1
How is the Constitution racist when anything dealing with that has been appealed? Name one part, one sentence that advocates racism that hasn't been removed by a new amendment.
1
So protesting is now a white privilege? Seriously? Nobody but NYC came close to being overwhelmed with hospitalizations. None of them were there. The originals were in Michigan where they couldn't buy seeds or go fishing in a motorized boat. Explain how a kayak won't spread the virus buy a motorboat will. It was ridiculous regulations. They were being fined, even though they had no job, for walking across the street in some places. How does slapping large fines on people that are unemployed and already losing everything right? The worst hit were small businesses owned by minorities.
1
The protesters were armed here and in many states that allow it. Black and white. The reason you didn't see it with this group and you did the other group is because that's what the media wanted you to see.
1
No to the last part. All of that is still in effect. Cases were rising again before the protests and the health experts were still saying stay home and opposed the openings.
1
Atheos B. Sapien That wouldn't have happened had Clinton not made them a preferred trade partner.
1
How is it a strawman argument? I think you've seen that used and think it applies everywhere. They were both protests which are rights under the Constitution. They both had passionate supporters. You do realize work means being able to feed your family and not lose everything you have right? Do you have any idea how many eviction notices are being sent out because people haven't worked for 3 months? Do a Google. So how is it a strawman? You agreeing with one set and disagreeing with the other doesn't make it a strawman. A strawman is when I compare something that did happen to something that didn't but maybe, if the star's align, could.
1
You're right. Those governors should not have put positive patients back into nursing homes. Especially since it had been stressed how deadly it was to the elderly. They accounted for over half the deaths. Since Congress controls the purse strings, you're right, they should have acted sooner rather than the house dragging their feet on the first package and instead dragging it out for over a month.
1
The EU is calling for an investigation excluding China. It's not just the US who has questions about what happened.
1
Tell that to all the unemployed that got large fines for being outside.
1
She was acquitted by the state supreme court. Many parts of the lockdowns didn't hold up under judicial scrutiny. Some did though.
1
@thelamjr Then how were over 400 officers hospitalized with serious injuries if they were always peaceful. Peaceful isn't throwing rocks, bottles, etc. That said, no I haven't seen but maybe a couple that didn't support the latest protest. However, it was few that supported the others. It was "they are murderers!" and "I hope they catch it and die!".
1
They also objected to the reopening, strongly, which he talked about also but it seems many didn't pay attention to.
1
These same health experts were against opening up that began in Republican states too. You skipped that very important part. If they weren't in favor of a couple going to a restaurant at 33% capacity, how could they justify close gatherings of hundreds and thousands? There in lies the hypocrisy.
1
I saw guns. Every protest in my state had guns being carried by black and white. The media didn't show it, so it must not have happened. Every state is still partially locked down and still not allowing groups of more than 10, even for funerals
1
He wasn't saying one was justified and one wasn't. You're trying to counterpoint an argument he never made. They were fighting because the lockdowns were causing financial and emotional harm as well as being unconstitutional. Many cities were trying to ban protesting. Where would you be if they hadn't stood before you did?
1
The left has outlawed transfat because it's bad for you. They've threatened a "fat" tax and would love to ban tobacco. They are just as bad.
1
He's pointing out how difficult it will be to trust them since they basically threw it away.
1
I have Lupus and it had never affected my health insurance.
1
The hypocrisy was health experts claiming one group is killing grandma and the other group is fine.
