@bobby45825 That was more true in my generation because we didn't even have anything afterschool. No programs, no babysitters, etc. That's why we were called latchkey kids. We didn't end up like this. What are parents supposed to do? Stop living beyond their means and don't let their kids have internet access. If you stop trying to buy every new gadget and do your own cooking, most married couples could afford for one of them to stay home or at least only work part time. We scratched by and even sometimes had to sell some of our stuff, but my kids had a parent at home because raising them was more important than stuff. Edit: You teach your children culture because it's not based on everything outside your house. That's why we have multiple cultures in the US. Why does your child have or need a cell phone? They don't. They are children.
