  1. ​ @30noir  I'm neither, but know we do in fact have a similar hierarchical system as animals. In particular social pack animals. Humans just don't like being compared to animals even though we are animals. We like to think of ourselves as separate and completely different. When push comes to shove and we're under real threat, we revert back to that hierarchical system.

They're using Russia to say it's not as bad as there so don't complain. A better example would be if they pointed to the UK and the boats and say they've got it as bad or worse so why are you complaining. Edit: There's also the issue that the border is being dealt with by a temporary solution that can change and did depending on who's president. This false idea you have that just because it's currently being dealt with means it won't become a problem again is delusional. It's perfectly fine for people to want a lasting solution to a 20+ year serious issue. Heck, longer than that. It's been an issue since the massive change in immigration from the Immigration Act in the 60s. It was a huge issue in the 80s. That Act needs to be changed or this will only continue.

Obviously attaching it to a group not as strong as yours which carried on throughout it's use. Edit: Even in Mayan society which allowed people from other tribes to join, those people would be lower in society and the first sacrificed. Outside Egypt also one of the most propagandized civilizations to have ever existed in the ancient world. The houses provided for the population had their gods drawn all over every wall so they were always being watched by them.

  8. ​ @Puzzlesocks  The whole Russia would have won without the US comes from Russia and from incomplete knowledge of the war. Unfortunately in history class they focus on only a few key aspects. The US defeated Germany on 2 of their 3 fronts and Japan. Without us having already won in Africa and freeing Northern Europe, they simply would have regrouped in one of those areas and continued. The USSR would not have freed those areas. If they even were capable, they'd have simply taken them themselves. They absolutely didn't, and still don't, have the naval capabilities to defeat Japan. So no, the Russia alone could not have won. They wouldn't have even been able to do what they did without US supplying them.

You also can't force an artist to create something for you which is what they were trying to do. That's the difference, and that would be true if it was due to race.

It's hilarious to see people that will say women shouldn't be in leadership positions or vote because they're not responsible enough also saying women should be on the battlefield. That would make it MORE dangerous and deadly for the men. Men fight for various reasons mainly because they evolved as the protector role in the species. That's why they're stronger, have better twitch muscle response, better hand-eye coordination, etc. The only person similar to a feminist is you in this discussion. You're the one trying to pretend men and women are completely interchangeable. Throughout human evolution the men protected the women because women produce life. A single man can impregnate many women. A woman carries it, births it, and nurses it. If you want to see the end of a species or civilization, let the females die and save the males. This is you not understanding biology, survival of the species/civilization, and putting forth a completely emotional argument isn't logical. Understanding that there's this thing called future generations makes any argument that men shouldn't do those things illogical. Everything you were saying was coming from thinking only about things in a self serving present gratification way. As someone who's ancestors fought in wars going back to the Crusades, one that stopped an invasion of England, and in every conflict from the Revolution onward defending this country, this was disgusting. They sacrificed so their family (including future generations) could live a life that was safer and hopefully better. They planted a tree they knew they'd never lay under the shade of. That it also protected strangers was just a bonus. You don't fight for what's in front of you. You fight for what's behind you. Edit: WWII wasn't just Germany. Why do people think it was just Germany? No, Germany wouldn't have fallen without US intervention. Where do you think Russia was getting food and military supplies from? An army runs on it's stomach. The US defeated Germany on 2 of Germany's 3 fronts. Africa and Northern Europe. We defeated Rommel in Africa. Germany's best military leader. We then landed on the beaches and freed Northern Europe. Russia simply went from their border directly into Germany and we still beat them to Berlin. Then after that, we defeated Japan. No, WWII would NOT have been won without US intervention. Russia would never have freed Northern Europe and Africa, and didn't have the navy capabilities to defeat Japan.

That's all this was. Advanced screening by customs. If you travel outside the country much, you'd know about lucky number 100. They pull every 100th person to customs randomly for additional screening.

But since he did it only on strippers, he wouldn't have run into those kids. Even if he did, they likely wouldn't tell him the full story because by running away they'd have felt responsible for their situation. There certainly wasn't the public attention on that part of it at the time.

  17. I grew up in a traditional conservative family. I was taught that women and men have duties. The Bible literally says so as well. I have no idea where you think that's happening. Women take care of the home and child rearing. Making their husband's life as calm as possible and his home a sanctuary when he comes home. The man protects and provides as well as anything that requires heavy lifting. They work together to create a safe, loving, but organized life for their children and pass their values down to future generations. That's how my great grandparents did it, my grandparents, my parents, and me and my husband live. It's also how our oldest now married son lives.

Unfortunately it tends to happen more rapidly for that party. I think it boils down to them needing such a large coalition to win it causes them to get pulled further and further to maintain it. It's funny that I see people claim the other party has moved far to the right because when you look at actual policy they've maintained their position and the Democratic party has moved much farther left. I'm old enough to remember the last time they did price controls. Carter did it to oil and gas. It was horrible. Long lines, rationing, etc. It was crazy. To even just suggest it on food is pure insanity. 44% on gains is bad too. It means I'll lose almost half my retirement when I cash out my 401k. Meaning I'm going to have to save almost twice as much and work longer. Pretty much the entire platform is crazy. Notice how I'm sticking to policy and not talking about personalities, likeability, anything to do with either candidate personally. The ONLY thing that should matter is policy. As for abortion, it went back to the states and the current platform is it remains there. The Supreme Court ruled Plan B can't be banned and condoms have been available for free since the late 80s or early 90s due to AIDS. I'm personally sick of all the fear mongering about every single issue. I'm also laughing at the party that opened the boarder and caused the problem are now suddenly running on fixing it. The party in power that claimed for almost 3 years they couldn't do anything about it suddenly cares and is going to fix it. I just can't. Edit: As for Trump and his daughter, Biden did the same thing with Hunter when he was VP. Hunter would fly to China on the government's dime with his dad and make business deals. I'm supposed to care Trump did it and ignore Biden did the same. How about nobody should do it, but neither side has the ethical high ground on it. Plus, honestly, that's the least of my concerns at the moment because unlike everything I listed, it doesn't really effect me.

(Why wouldn't a country put it's people first? Isn't that the point of government? To protect and serve the citizens, not a different country?) Basically, loving your country and putting its needs and the citizens' needs first. Patriotism definition: the quality of being devoted to and vigorous support of one's country. Basically, it is a feeling of love and devotion to a country or state. They're pretty much the same. Just nationalism is like a tier above patriotism. I can explain why we use patriotism when we really mean nationalism. Nationalism is one of those naughty words because of the Nationalist Socialist Germans. Neither has anything to do with support for the government, but both are devotion and support of the country.

Respect is defined as a deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. You don't know any of that about a stranger. Far too many conflate respect with being polite or having good manners. What you're describing is called a polite society. It's to maintain peace, maintain the social norms, and all surface level.

There's policies that dictate how much blood quantum we have to decide what group we can say we belong to. If a company wants to drill or something on our reservations the government takes the money and holds it for us in a trust because we're too stupid to manage our own money. That's literal policy. The government was also caught stealing that money. The difference is we don't cry to other groups to fix it for us. We follow the rules set forth to take our grievances to the government. I really wish other groups would learn to do the same instead of expecting everyone else to fix it for them. That's not helping the stereotypes and it creates things that aren't real issues because you've never properly taken them to the government to even get an explanation or response.

Reversal of some of those laws are being asked for today by the group saying the US is systemically racist. Also, what consequences would someone feel that's never lived it and didn't impact them? Don't say generational wealth because the vast majority of Americans don't even have it. Even ones that have been here hundreds of years. Generational wealth unless you're extremely rich and even then most of the time too, doesn't last more than 3 generations and it takes generations to reach that point. My grandfather's family has been here since the late 1600s and my children will be the first generation to enjoy any amount of wealth being passed on to them. My family is not unusual due to various economic downturns that have occurred often in our history. The whole "generational wealth" stuff comes from thinking that a certain race is far above the others when even looking at a wealth chart disputes that claim. I mean one is, but it's not the one that's being called racist.

Edit: You unintentionally highlight a very real problem in teaching history. They don't teach the full history and just do a highlight reel focusing on the worst or biggest instances of something. I see this in the history taught around slavery. I've even seen them teach the US was the worst when the Middle East castrated the males and that's not getting into the lowest class of slaves in Rome that only lived 6 months if they were lucky. Nor do they teach that Natives were enslaved first or that free blacks existed and also had slaves. I'm glad I was taught when I was because it was a more comprehensive study on these things.

They have children line up, ask questions, and say whoever is in the back is due to systematic oppression in elementary. There are books in elementary required reading or on the reading list that calls huwite people "the devil." They've removed discipline based on race. They do grading based on race and those policies explicitly state it's to overcome the systematic racism. It's called CRT in praxis and it's taught in every college to obtain a teaching degree and how to teach it to all ages of students.

You do know if what you're claiming was true they'd have attorneys lining up to sue for discrimination. When it comes to court cases in particular there's past offenses taken into consideration. So if it's the same crime and one is a first offense and the other is a 2nd offense, they're going to get different sentences for the same crime. As for those families, have they been before the court before? Do they have other things against them? It's not as simple as they both did this when it comes to court cases. You're past heavily influences a decision because they heavily impact the likelihood of continued issues. There's a massive amount of context missing from your little story, and it's likely for a reason. Edit: I'm always suspicious when the same crime is stated but the claim of same history is ommited.

  44. Ukrainian is not and has never been a US ally. Russia is also not an ally. The US shares a border with Russia. There is only 30 miles of water between us. We're not "ignorant" either. The taxpayers are tired of going into debt protecting other countries that can't be bothered to try to protect themselves. The day may come when we're not around or a super power and your countries need to be able to handle things on your own. Like a parent tells their child when it's time to grow up and take care of yourself. The parent will always be there to help if they fall, but they've got to stop relying on the parents for everything.

  46. There's a natural hierarchy in humans and that includes one within the sexes. That's why throughout history leaders are depicted in art as strong and usually in battle scenes where they're defeating an enemy. This is to project strength and a sense of protection to the population. Female hierarchy is either connected to the strength of the male or leadership role he has or it's connected to being a healer and community helper. Those both play into the evolutionary traits of men and women. Mostly scientists don't put humans in similar categories as animals due to wanting to be seen as above and separate from them even though we are animals. Humans get uncomfortable when compared to animals, but that doesn't mean as pack type social animals we don't have a similar hierarchical system. We just think that because we can reason, we can overcome them.

Human rights are things the government can't do to individuals. It has nothing to do with individual interactions. Civility is manners or being polite. I can't have deep admiration for someone I know nothing about. This is as ignorant as people saying no one is better than anyone else. There are indeed good and bad people and they are not equal. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging reality.
