Thank you for pointing out the fallacy of the comparison. The thing is, and why he ultimately won, is your can't deny anyone something on the self. You also can't force an artist to create something for you which is what they were trying to do. That's the difference, and that would be true if it was due to race.

They weren't refused service. They were offered any cake in the store that was already made. They wanted to force him to make something just for them. In other words, a commission. You can't force an artist to make art for you.

@FollowJJWhiteheadComedy So not really #1. Just number 1 if we add a bunch of qualifiers to it. Like Disney. Every new show is the #1 on streaming. For Disney. In that time slot. On that exact date.

@16m49x3 So a woman that reaches menopause and the children are grown is no longer married? A woman that's barren isn't really married? That's not what marriage has ever been about. Its about inheritance and who has a legal claim to it.

This isn't in a the context of a family. It's in the context of complete strangers. That would be manners. Not respect. However, they actually want deep admiration and to be celebrated for just existing.

That's called being polite. It's not respect. There's no such thing as basic respect because respect means to have a deep admiration for someone or something. Human rights are things the government can't do to individuals. It has nothing to do with individual interactions. Civility is manners or being polite. That's the only word or phrase you used correctly. Edit: I can not violate a person's human rights. I can't violate anyone's rights because I'm not the government. I can break the law which is the contract with society. Rights are protections every person has to protect them from the government. Laws are what protects individuals from each other.

No. Respect is earned. Respect means deep admiration for someone because of what they've done. You're talking about just basic manners and being polite. Those are not the same thing. I can't have deep admiration for someone I know nothing about. This is as ignorant as people saying no one is better than anyone else. There are indeed good and bad people and they are not equal. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging reality.

@FollowJJWhiteheadComedy That wasn't comedy. It was his introduction to his audience of who he was about to interview. There's zero comedic effect in the delivery.
1
His show was ruined. That's from an interview show he had on TV as a journalist.
1
@FollowJJWhiteheadComedy Maybe if he didn't deceptively edit his interviews he'd still be popular. He has only himself to blame.

@johnadams9193 I have more books than what's behind him and read every single one. I purchased most of them in hardback so they'd stay in better condition. I see several fantasy series I've read myself behind him.
1
@richyglitched That has nothing to do with Jefferies. The subject of the video. Avi just happened to be who was able to expose him. He showed very little of him and more of Jefferies and Peterson.

That's called manners and being polite. It's not respect. It's surface level to keep interactions civil and to keep the peace. I don't expect respect from complete strangers. I've done nothing to warrant their deep admiration yet. Which is what the word respect means. If you go to a prison, do you "respect" the murders? Of course not, but you're still polite to them. They are not the same thing.

It was an interview show he used to do for the news. It ended 5 years ago.

@Ozgrade3 An "expert" in gun use in another country is the equivalent of most gun owners in the US. We grow up around them and are taught from a very young age safety and proper use. In rural areas we start hunting at 9 or 10 with our fathers. There would be way more accidents if that wasn't the case. There have been young children that have used them effectively in self defense. The only person I know that's ever accidentally shot themselves was an "expert" like you're claiming to be. He discharged while putting it back in it's holster and shot his own leg. I guess he forgot where the safety is and how to use it. I'm concel carry licensed which means I took the same range qualifications as a police officer, and I'm blind in one eye.

Nope. You can't discriminate based on immutable characteristics if your store is open to the public. You don't have to make something special that's not available on the shelf. That's the difference.

That's called manners or being polite. It doesn't mean you actually respect them as a person. Respect is defined as a deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. You don't know any of that about a stranger. Far too many conflate respect with being polite or having good manners. What you're describing is called a polite society. It's to maintain peace, maintain the social norms, and all surface level.
