  1. Most of the police involved in this aren't Ottawa police. A large portion refused to do this. That's why it wasn't broken up sooner and why the chief was forced to resign. It's clear too by the leaked messages and one of them saying to leave some protesters for them when they get sent in later this week. These are the Royal Canadian Mounted Police or RCMP. Because they are "royal" the Queen can command them and stop what's happening. So this isn't just a bad look for Canada, it's a bad look for the Queen.
